Engagement Programme

As a parent in Lockwood Girls High School we would like you to engage yourself with your daughter's life as a student.

One of the ways to do that is to understand the students Code of Conduct and ensure that your daughter is following it.

Lockwood Girls High School Student Code of Conduct

  1. Punctuality: All students must report to the school before 4.00 p.m. on the official opening day as indicated in the school calendar. Any student reporting later than that day one should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  2. Personal Demeanor: A student of Lockwood Girls’ High School respects authority and is dutiful, polite, kind and considerate of other people’s feelings. She must be clean and smart at all times.
  3. Worship: Our school is a Christian managed school and every student is expected to abide with the school mode of worship. Other religions like Muslims are also given a chance.
  4. Academic: Students should take class work serious. They should aim at improving their performance always. If a student is punished for more than 3 times for not doing assignments, she will be suspended. English is the school official language.
  5. School Property : Text books, library books, desks, chairs and other school property are issued to individual students and therefore one is responsible for any loss or damage. Proper care of individual property must be observed as well.
  6. Dressing: A student must be in the appropriate school wear at all times. One must label all her clothing with indelible mark to avoid loss or confusion from others. No home clothes except for drama which must be kept in the office. Likewise, make up, nail polish, jewelry and bangles are not to be worn in school. Hair Style – black braids and not long held back by a black band.
  7. Substance Abuse: Smoking, drinking alcohol and any drug abuse and being in possession of phonographic materials are highly prohibited and any offender may be suspended or be excluded. Any student suspended must hand over the school property before leaving the school.
  8. Visitors: Students should never talk to outsiders without permission even if they are their parents or relatives.
  9. Misconduct: Bullying other students, acting in a manner liable to create disturbances and other major offences like telling lies, breaking bounds, cheating, or doing willful damage may lead to exclusion.
  10. THEFT: Any student who steals another student’s item will be expected to repay double the item.
  11. School I.D: All students must carry the school ID at all times. Incase of transfer, the I.D must be handed over to the office. ALL parents or guardians must present the visitors card at the gate as a gate pass.
  12. Electrical Gadgets: No mobile phones or electrical items allowed.
  13. Dining Hall: Students must eat their food in the Dining Hall. They should eat while seated in their respective tables and proper table manners observed. Punctuality should be observed as no serving after 30 minutes.
  14. Dormitory: Student’s dormitories are strictly out of bounds to visitors. If any visitor is found, the student concerned will be suspended - Students should keep to their cubes and beds. Bed sharing is a serious offense.
  15. Health: We have a qualified nurse in school at all times for minor incidents and emergencies. In the event of a sudden illness the school will take the student to the nearest hospital and inform the parent. It is the Parents responsibility to pay for all medical costs including transport, nurses
    and the hospital bills. The cost of any treatment in school and in the hospital is the responsibility of the parent.
  16. School Fees: Fees must be paid in full on or before the first day of the term. No student will be allowed into the school before payment of the school fees. Fees once paid are not refundable.
  17. Pocket Money: All pocket money should be deposited immediately with the office.
  18. Punishments: These will be administered with reference to the offence committed.

N.B:  Anything that is contrary to decency, Good manners or common sense is contrary to the rules of Lockwood Girls.
